Sandon JMI school has been making waves recently as the small school with a big heart.
Nestled in the heart of rural North Hertfordshire mainstream primary, Sandon JMI sits in an idyllic location on the village green, next to a duck pond and the biggest re-wilding project in Hertfordshire.
Students at Sandon feel nurtured, known and inspired in this unique rural setting and particularly look forward to weekly accredited Forest School lessons, held in their very own outdoor classroom. From den building to making dream catchers, children learn to take risks, build resilience, and develop a lifelong connection with nature – all while learning vital life skills.
Sandon children also enjoy a varied calendar of extra-curricular activities like cooking workshops, bikeability, dance classes, author visits and trips to the pantomime. Most recently all children from the school came second in the best dressed tractor competition at the Farmers on Christmas Lights Tour which raised over £54,000 in aid of Garden House Hospice.
This welcoming school works closely with families to ensure the best possible experience for every child. If you’re looking for a high-quality education in a unique rural setting, they’d love to hear from you.
