Buntingford Shorts Film Festival had a record number of entries (1788) and a record turnout for their local showcase event. This year’s winning local film was “Bingo” directed by Joshua Mitchell, which follows two sex workers whose lives are on the line, and so must blend in at a village hall bingo night to avoid the pursuit of a dangerous man. The judges praised Bingo for its storytelling, humour and cinematography.
There were six winning international films: Animation – Ace directed by Fanny Capu Comedy – The Act directed by Nicola Florin Documentary – Everything is Waves directed by Cris Saavedra Drama – Shchedryk directed by Daria Artuskova Horror – Fish directed by Ivan Kukushkin Music and Sound – Remanence directed by Elsa Audevart
