South Cambridge Striders is a friendly and inclusive running club serving the South Cambridge community and beyond.
With a strong emphasis on social, chatty running and a genuine sense of togetherness, the club welcomes runners of all abilities, from those taking their first steps into running to experienced runners looking for motivation, support and good company.
The club was founded in January 2024 by a small group training for the Cambridge Half Marathon. As word spread, numbers quickly grew, revealing a real local appetite for a relaxed and welcoming running club where enjoyment matters as much as pace. Now an England Athletics-affiliated club with over 60 members, South Cambridge Striders has continued to grow while staying true to the supportive, community-focused ethos it was built on.
The Striders meet twice a week, with group runs every Sunday morning and Tuesday evening in and around Trumpington. A range of distances and pace groups ensures there’s something for everyone, and no runner is ever left behind.
As one member says: “Joining South Cambridge Striders was a highlight of my year. Having just moved to the area, I didn’t know any runners or routes. I joined the Sunday morning group and have absolutely loved it – a hugely welcoming and well-organised club.” Open, inclusive and community-minded, South Cambridge Striders is about more than running – it’s about enjoying it together.
