Twilight at the Museums

Go on an after-hours museum adventure!
This half term, from Monday 17th – Sunday 23rd February, museums across Cambridge will be opening their doors as the sun sets for illuminated adventures this February half term.

Organised by the University of Cambridge Museums, ‘Twilight at the Museums’ is a popular and long-running programme, offering families the chance to explore museums after the usual closing time.

It is a great opportunity to see Cambridge’s museums in a unique new light as many illuminate their darkened galleries in spectacular lighting effects.
Enjoy nighttime nature hunts, take on torchlit trails through the galleries, search for dinosaurs and twilight beasts, get hands-on with space-themed science, journey to the mysterious underwater realm of god of the sea Poseidon, and much more!

All events are free or low-cost, and a mixture of book ahead and drop-in activities. Many are within walking distance, so families can make the most of their evening by visiting more than one event.

The full programme is on the University of Cambridge Museums website:

Families can also sign up to an email newsletter for a half term events guide straight to your inbox.
There are also plenty of family activities running at the Museums during the day.

This includes a Disability Friendly Opening for children with special educational needs and disabilities and their families, offering a quieter visiting environment and sensory activities.

The Twilight at the Museums programme follows sister initiative, Summer at the Museums, promoting affordable family friendly activities during the school summer holidays.
