The Hundred Parishes Society has been able to support a growing number of worthwhile local initiatives over the past four years, thanks to increasing membership and the generosity of its supporters.
As a registered charity, the Society invites applications for grants from organisations that have been members for at least three years, including many parish councils. In its latest round, trustees awarded four grants with a total value of £7,000.
Applications are assessed to ensure they meet the Society’s charitable objectives, provide public benefit, are realistic and represent good value for money.
Projects previously supported include new and refurbished village signs and information panels, churchyard improvements, community gardens with seating, refurbishment of a war memorial, an educational video on pargetting and digitisation of a photo archive.
The Society hopes to add further completed projects to the list as the latest grants are put to use.
