With so many local Cambridge Fairs and Festivals not happening this year down to lack of funds and sponsorship, it is an absolute credit to the team of volunteers that have been running the Shelford Feast for the last 10, 20, 30 years that we look forward to another fantastic week starting on the 5th of July 2025.
With the decades of groundwork, the Feast has gone from strength to strength. Acts have got bigger, crowds have increased and events have multiplied. The Shelford Festival and Feast now runs across 8 separate days/evenings, and is filled with great live music, DJ sets, class comedy, and still retains the local community events of quizzes, performances, local gatherings, beer/gin festivals and at the heart of it all – the Full Sunday event of Feast Day – this year on Sunday the 6th of July.
It truly has been and continues to be a fantastic event for our local communities.
This year the Shelford Festival and Feast has two legends performing across the week. Scott Mills – the Nation’s Radio 2 morning DJ opening the first night on Saturday 5th July with disco classics transforming the Grand Marquee on Great Shelford Recreation Ground, CB22 5LZ. Later in the week, coming off his successful Doin’Fine tour, Jason Donovan opens the night of Friday the 11th with local band Back-to the-80’s following on and closing the night. In-between those acts the unique Rattlesnake Johnny brings his County DJ flare and finishing off the week, the return of Anthems Ibiza Orchestra closes the full fun packed lists of events. All live acts are inside the grand marquee with full sound and lighting to match much larger gig venues and can house 1000 people plus. It promises to be a fantastic year.
Not only do the team of volunteers put on a fantastic list of events, the group donates profits to local groups and good causes. This year the Shelford Festival and Feast team are looking to break past the £400K that has been donated since the event first started. To be able to do this support from sponsorship, advertising and donations are vital. If you can help please email sponsorship@shelfordfeast.co.uk Your contributions will be most welcome and enable this great event to continue to thrive while still helping local groups and communities.
