Great Chishill Windmill holds the final two open days in its 2026 programme this September.
The windmill is one of only eight open trestle post mills in the UK. In 2011 it was in urgent need of restoration to save it from collapse, but thanks to the Great Chishill Windmill Trust it has been preserved for future generations.
Volunteer guides will be on hand to provide guided tours of the historic structure. With picnic tables and wide views across the countryside, visitors can also make time to enjoy the setting.
Final Open Days of 2026:
Sunday 13th September, 10am–4pm
Sunday 27th September, 10am–4pm
Last entry 3.30pm.
Entry is free, although donations are welcome.
