Complementary Therapy Tips for You

Laura shared that tuning into one or more of the seven senses: touch, smell, sight, taste, sound, proprioception and interoception can support your wellbeing along with a positive waking and a bedtime routine to ensure good quality sleep.

Tips to de-stress at times of worry or anxiety, such as giving yourself a hand massage (videos can be found at www.arhc.org.uk/videos), keeping your favourite smell close by, looking at fond photographs, tasting different foods – hot or cold, and listening to your favourite music or bird song, were some of those shared by Complementary Therapist, Laura Hawksley at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. Patients and carers referred to Arthur Rank Hospice Charity are supported by a range of different services. One of these is Complementary Therapy and is offered to patients on the Inpatient Unit, as part of the Living Well Services and for patients in the community.
