The shops are telling us in no uncertain terms that Christmas is once again on its way. We might be fortunate if only for moments each day we can to step back from involvement in the struggle of buying presents, planning meals, arranging to accommodate visiting family and friends or travel to be with them. The true reason for and meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, can so easily be overlooked. Almost every village has a church in this wonderful part of the country where we live. Glorious buildings, some now very old, some quite new, welcome us. Come inside, enjoy a moment of calm, a moment of quiet, a moment of prayer. Come along for a Christmas time service, some just for children, and celebrate this special season in a special way. Look up your local church on A Church Near You, and find the details of Christmas services. Starting in January we shall be reporting on churches in the different areas covered by Local Connections Magazine, which we hope you will find an interesting and helpful addition. Merry Christmas!
