Buntingford Shorts

Buntingford Shorts have received nearly 1800 submissions from across the world for their upcoming ninth film festival.
After extensive watching of over 200 hours of film, their small committee have shortlisted the final 18 films in the international film category with three films in each of the six genres: Animation, Comedy, Documentary, Drama, Horror and Music and Sound. This year, drama and animation have been particularly strong categories.

In the final international shortlisting, one third of the films have been submitted from the UK, with other submissions from across the European Union and from as far afield as New Zealand.
They are now shortlisting the top five films submitted in the local category.

All five shortlisted filmmakers will be invited to attend the local showcase to discuss the inspiration behind making their film and share insights into their creative process. Each film will then be shown in full. The panel of judges will then provide live feedback to the filmmaker. Once all five films have been shown, the judges will announce the top three films and award each of the winning filmmakers their prize money. In addition this year, the festival committee will also present two special awards to the best films from school age submitters.

The local showcase is a free public event which takes place on Saturday 11th April at 7.30pm at Christ Church URC, Baldock Road, Buntingford.

Drinks and nibbles are provided. Everyone is welcome. The international event will be broadcast on YouTube on Sunday 12th April.
